NEH offers two categories of grants for America’s Historical and Cultural Organizations: planning and implementation grants.
Planning grants are available for projects that may need further development before applying for implementation
Implementation grants support the final preparation of a project for presentation to the public.
Grant Application and Submission Information:
NEH recommends that drafts be submitted at least six weeks before the deadline, so that staff will have adequate time to respond. A response cannot be guaranteed if drafts arrive after this date
See full application information here: http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/AHCO_ImplementationGuidelines.html#howto
